Meet our Team

Edoardo (“Eddy”) Maffia joined the LRH team in 2022 as an Associate and practices out of our New York Office. Eddy earned a double-major Bachelor of Arts cum laude in Government & Politics and Italian Studies from the University of Maryland. Eddy then earned a Juris Doctorate from Fordham University School of Law where he was a member of the Trial Advocacy team and the Fordham Journal of Corporate and Financial Law. Eddy also participated in the Criminal Defense clinic and worked on a successful appeal on a national security case, as well as the International Human Rights clinic, through which he prepared a “Know Your Rights” seminar for refugees in South Africa.

Eddy was recruited by an insurance company after law school and directly negotiated more than $5,000,000 in bodily-injury settlements. He went on to become an associate at a civil litigation firm where he gained invaluable courtroom experience defending clients from inception to resolution in multimillion dollar civil cases. Eddy then advanced to another litigation firm where he continued to gain experience in all phases of Federal and State litigation in labor law, general liability, motor-vehicle, municipal and civil rights cases. Eddy then worked as an associate in one of the most prestigious criminal defense law firms in New York State, where he oversaw the Civil Defense department, managed the Firm’s day-to-day operations and caseload, and worked on complex and high-profile civil and criminal cases in the state and federal courts of New York and across the country. Eddy was recognized by Best Lawyers as “One to Watch” in 2022.

Eddy immigrated to the United States from Rome, Italy. He is a native speaker of Italian and Spanish, and is also fluent in Portuguese. Eddy is dedicated to giving back, and does so by reviewing scholarships for the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and by mentoring underprivileged teenagers seeking to be the first in their family to attend college.
